O The Abrasel Congress brings together business owners to debate food service challenges and trends in Brasília will discuss management, innovation and staff retention in the bar and restaurant industry
Business owners and professionals from the food service industry already have a date set in Brasília. From June 16 to 18, the federal capital will host the 38th Abrasel Congress, an event dedicated to exchanging experiences, discussing trends and strengthening connections among players in the bar and restaurant market.
Organized by Abrasel (the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants), the congress will bring together business leaders, specialists and industry representatives from different regions of the country. The main program of talks and panels will take place on June 17, with free registration and the option of participating online.
For José Eduardo Camargo, Abrasel's Content lead, the congress reinforces the importance of coordination between business owners and industry representatives. “The Abrasel Congress is a space for qualified listening and collective building. It's a moment when we manage to draw attention to how important food service is to the Brazilian economy. On top of that, by bringing together different realities and experiences, we're able to spread valuable knowledge to business owners and generate real impact for their businesses”, he stresses.
The organizers expect to broaden the sharing of best practices and spark discussions about the main challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the segment.
Connections between business owners strengthen the industry
The chance to expand professional connections is one of the factors cited as a differentiator of the event. Júlio Bertolucci, director of Água Doce Sabores do Brasil, attends the congress regularly and highlights how relevant the gathering is for keeping up with market changes. “The information and experiences shared at these gatherings help a lot with strategic decisions and with our chain's evolution”, he says.
With 36 years in business, the Água Doce chain follows the congress as a space for updates and institutional relationships. “Expectations are very positive. Beyond meeting up again with friends, partners and industry leaders, the congress helps us better understand the directions being discussed for the market, both economically and politically”, he reveals.
According to Júlio, contact with business owners from different regions contributes to new management perspectives. “We leave with new ideas, information and perspectives that help us reflect on strategies, processes and opportunities to evolve. The congress helps us spot opportunities, assess processes and adapt best practices to the reality of each operation. This continuous learning makes a big difference in the day-to-day of the business”, Júlio stresses.
Practical solutions for the industry's operations
Local entrepreneurs also see the event as an opportunity to apply solutions directly to the daily routine of their venues. Wesley Moreira da Silva, owner of the restaurants Don Romano Cantina e Pizzaria, Cumbuco Saladeria and Aloha ni hao, in Brasília (DF), says that contact with other managers broadens participants' strategic vision. “The congress is essential, given that 20% of simple actions impact 80% of revenue. A lot of the time the solution is right under our nose, but we don't see it, and by talking we manage to spot simple actions that change a routine, a process, and that bring savings, gains and higher profitability”, Wesley reveals.
The owner also highlights the importance of the collaborative environment fostered during the event. “It's always great to be with colleagues from the industry in person, with the regional and sectional ABRASEL executives; in a moment between the talks we get together and they introduce the members and a really nice exchange of experiences begins”.
With a focus on innovation, management and institutional strengthening, the 38th Abrasel Congress aims to bring together different views of the food service industry in an environment of learning and coordination. The expectation is that the event will contribute to the exchange of experiences and to building strategies geared toward the sustainable growth of bars and restaurants in the country.
Registration is already open on the Congress website, which gathers all the up-to-date information about the event.
