iFood Order Manager: how it works

iFood is the best-known delivery app in Brazil and receives more than 70 million orders per month, according to the company's own survey. It's no wonder it's the leading platform used by restaurants that offer delivery service.

By completing registration on iFood, the establishment gains visibility and can be found by new customers, who browse the menu and place their order through the app. This way, the platform works as a storefront and can help increase sales.

But selling more isn't enough: you need efficient service and a consistent quality standard. That's why iFood offers the iFood Order Manager, software that helps organize incoming orders and deliveries.

In this article, you'll understand how to use this tool, discover its features and learn how to manage your orders in the best way. Read on!

What is the order manager?

The order manager is a tool created by iFood itself so restaurants can track all sales made through the platform. It's free for every registered establishment.

There are three ways to use it:

  • Installing it on your computer
  • Through the web browser
  • Through the iFood para Parceiros app

See below how to download it and learn more about the features of the iFood Order Manager. Read on!

Other options are to access the Order Manager through your browser or through the iFood para Parceiros app, available for Android e iOS.

How does the iFood order manager work?

Once you've logged into the Order Manager, you'll have access to a range of features for tracking your sales on iFood.

The main one is precisely tracking the flow of orders, checking the status of each one, from when it comes in until it goes out for delivery.

When an order comes in, you're notified and can see information such as items ordered, amounts, delivery fee, coupons, payment method, among others. You can choose to accept orders automatically or do it manually.

The tool also has other features such as:

  • Print orders on a non-fiscal printer to organize production in the kitchen.
  • Pause menu items that are currently unavailable.
  • Temporarily close the store in case of unexpected issues.
  • Chat with customers to answer questions, solve possible problems and strengthen the relationship.
  • Request an iFood delivery driver if you have any problem with your own delivery.
  • Check a sales summary with gross amounts sold in the last 8 hours.

What's the difference between the Order Manager and the iFood Partner Portal?

It's worth remembering that, in addition to the Order Manager, iFood also has the Partner Portal, where you can handle all the management of your store.

That's where you should set up your profile, including your restaurant's information, indicating opening hours, delivery area, etc.

It's also through the Partner Portal that you handle financial management and track your store's performance.

Can I manage delivery orders in another system?

The Order Manager is an excellent tool and has all the features you need to manage your sales.

However, if you also serve customers in your physical space and use other sales channels as well, tracking orders can get quite complex.

On top of that, the record of your sales also gets scattered, and you may have difficulty closing the register and generating sales reports.

That's why most restaurant systems offer integration with iFood. This way you unify the management of all your orders, making organization and production flow easier, as well as sales control.

With EPOC, for example, you can integrate several delivery platforms, including iFood, and see every order in the Delivery Hub. This gives you much more efficiency in your operation and simplifies your management.
